Red-Shift
This is a simple animation that calculates a red-shift, (see model window) in a straightforward way. The details are discussed in Advancing Physics A2 chapter 12. The measuring tool axes with green lines can be positioned over various spectra before the model is run. Running the model allows the slide control to be used to vary the recessional velocity and thus the red-shift. Match the model to Hubble’s data!
