Aliases
This simple model is designed to help with revision of the idea of an alias.
Two cases are included with the model which is showing a 50 Hz cosine signal. Using the cases buttons and the adjust button on the graph window, you can display each graph separately and superimposed if both buttons are selected.
The graphs are produced at different time intervals DT and this can be selected in the model.
Use the model and the edit copy window function to explain what an alias is. Select a DT at the Nyquist limit and produce the graph for this case. Discuss what you see in this case. Try a slightly smaller time interval than the Nyquist suggestion. Does this help a lot with the faithful representation of the signal?
